The inherit nature of police work creates a dangerous environment at times. Since the formation of the Pensacola Police Department in 1821, Fourteen (14) police officers have given their life in the line of duty. Each Spring, those officers are remembered with a local memorial service held at the Pensacola Police Department. During the same time of year, members of the Jim “Billy” Barnes Lodge attend the Florida FOP Law Enforcement Memorial. Members who are assigned to the Pensacola Police Honor Guard attend the State Memorial Service and are sponsored to represent the lodge.
Below are the names of the Pensacola Police Officers who have sacrificed their life for our community.
